Cohesion Theatre Company will be hosting Puppetry Workshops that are open to any participants seeking to expand their acting training and physical awareness. What does it take to bring the character of a puppet to life? We will explore the foundations of movement in Puppetry through the Tadashi Suzuki method of acting while also incorporating object articulation. Our work in Suzuki will refer to having a strong stance, intense focus, and transferring energy through exercises such as soaring, slow walks, and statues. As we explore physical objects, we will work to animate fabric and paper and study how simple materials can be elevated to become characters that convey complex emotion. Puppets create their own reality, so come join our explorations of endless possibilities!

All workshops will build upon each other, so please plan to attend all three sessions. Warm and comfortable clothes for movement are recommended, as is water or any snacks you want to bring.
